Historical note
Slot Rhoon. In oorsprong laat-middeleeuws kasteel, grotendeels herbouwd omstreeks 1598. Complex van vleugels met zadeldaken tussen punt- en topgevels. Twee veelhoekige traptorens. In de zuidelijke vleugel ingangspartij met gebosseerde pilasters. Het slot werd gepleisterd en gemoderniseerd in het eerste kwart van de negentiende eeuw door Van Hoboken. Zesdelige Empireschuiframen uit die tijd. Inwendig: in de keuken een schouw (zeventiende eeuw), in de grote zaal, oudtijds vierschaar, gebrandschilderde ramen (zeventiende eeuw) en resten van een slotkapel.
