Historical note
Kasteel Maurick. Omgracht kasteel in 1504-1509 gebouwd door Jan Heyns, een der bouwmeesters van de St. Janskerk in 's-hertogenbosch, in opdracht van Jonker Jan Heym, hoogschout van de Meierij. In 1891-1892 gerestaureerd en veranderd door architect L.C. Hezenmans. Ophaalbrug, poortgebouw geflankeerd door deels veelhoekige torens; arkeltorens aan het hoofdgebouw daarnaast; trapgevels aan de zijvleugels; op de binnenplaats tegen de achtergevel hoogopgaande traptoren met ingesnoerde naaldspits.
