Lecture éditoriale

Ordsall is mentioned in records in 1177; that documentary reference is not a construction date for the whole surviving building. The house retains medieval fabric, including parts of the east wing associated with the fourteenth century. Its present Great Hall was built in 1512, during the Radclyffe family's long connection with the estate.

Later uses included a working men's club and a clergy training establishment. Salford acquired the building in 1959, and it opened as a museum in 1972. Restoration in 2009–2011 helped conserve its historic structure and reopen significant rooms.

Visitors can explore the Great Hall, recreated rooms and gardens. Check the operator's current opening and accessibility information before travelling.
