Editorial reading
Historic England dates the principal remodelling to around 1750 while identifying a sixteenth- or seventeenth-century core. Limestone walls, a stone-slate roof and a classically treated entrance establish its country-house character. The account distinguishes later work, including a ballroom of about 1939 by Clough Williams-Ellis.
The listed elevations include a pedimented central section, a Doric entrance and a projecting staircase element, illustrating how different additions form the present composition. The operator now offers the house for exclusive stays, weddings and events on an estate near Chipping Norton.
Our editorial reading: Cornwell's apparent stylistic ease is the product of accumulated change. Reading the earlier fabric and later social spaces together gives a fuller picture than treating it simply as a Georgian façade.

Recommendation
Contact the operator about exclusive hire or accommodation. Private stays and events are distinct from public historic-house admission; confirm access arrangements rather than assuming that the house and gardens are generally open.
