Château édifié au 12e siècle sur ordre de Frédéric le Borgne, duc de Souabe et d’Alsace, qui fit construire une série de forteresses destinées à protéger sa résidence de Haguenau ; quelques travaux au milieu du 14e siècle ; totalement démantelé au cours de la guerre de Trente Ans.
