From the register

Ce château a été édifié entre 1865 et 1867 par l’architecte parisien Storez pour le marquis de Montaut, à l’emplacement de trois châteaux plus anciens (deux féodaux et un du 18e siècle, dont subsiste le colombier daté de 1766). Le parc a été réaménagé vers 1920.
