L’édifice se compose du château proprement dit, dont la construction remonte au 15e siècle, et de deux ailes ajoutées sous Louis XIV. Un porche couvert et deux murs à arcades rejoignaient les extrémités de ces ailes et fermaient ainsi une cour d’honneur à peu près rectangulaire. Sur la face postérieure s’étendaient un parterre en terrasse et une orangerie. Un parc complétait l’ensemble.
